There's still plenty more on the way, but our wildflowers are opening up their buds and laying on a banquet for the bees. Poppies are starting to add vivid oranges, yellows and reds to the thick carpet of green. Pink and blue Cornflowers are peeping out here and there. And Fairy Toadflax is filling in some of the gaps with sprays of purple, pink and soft yellow. And this is only the beginning!
Mabley Meadow is a community-run green space in Hackney, East London. For the last four years, we've been busy transforming an unused, unloved part of our neighbourhood into a haven for people and wildlife.
Here's where you can see everything we've done, get tips on how to do something similar yourself and get in touch.
If you'd like to help out or want to join the Users Group for the park, just email us at mableygreenUG@gmail.com
